coursonandmorrison:

Jim Morrison was a voracious reader, and an incredibly bright one too. He reportedly had an IQ of 149 and favored he works of Nietzsche and Jack Kerouac, among others. He is often noted by his instructors for having read obscure books even they hadn’t heard of. His inspirations are made clear in the Doors’ lyrics as well as his own poetry, and he certainly had a gift - he could string words together beautifully and eloquently. He was a brilliant man in every sense of the word.
